William N. Vessels Sr., hard worker
On Friday, July 31, 2020, around 5:05 a.m., Mr. William Nathan Vessels Sr., 73, took his flight from labor to rest.
William was born Feb. 8, 1947, to the late Robert and Charlotte Vessels in King & Queen County, Va.
At an early age he came to know about the Lord, and he attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Virginia with his mother. While born in Virginia, William was raised in New Jersey most of his life.
He attended the East Greenwich School System in Mickleton, N.J., and Central High School in Virginia. He also served in the U. S. Army.
William was a hard worker and believed in taking care of his family, especially his children. His first marriage with France Martin blessed him with six children, and then he and Clarice Vessels were blessed with a daughter, Charlotte Vessels.
He was previously the owner of Vessels Masonry Construction. Anyone who was in need of getting something fixed, they knew they could depend on him. Even in his sickness he tried to do all he could. He will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Charlotte Vessels; siblings Albert, Robert, James and Christine; and son Timothy Vessels.
Left to mourn his passing, his wife Clarice Vessels with whom he shared 46 years; children Dawn Vessels of Camden, N.J., Minnie (Tyrone) Vessels Fulton of Philadelphia, Pa., William “Billy” (Wanda) Vessels of Camden, Johnathan Vessels of Florida, Jermaine Vessels of Delaware, Charlotte Vessels of Seaford, William Davis of Seaford, Adrienne Wilson of Seaford and Michelle (Wayne) Blair of Camden; two grandsons whom he and Clarice raised were Henry Vessels and Gene Vessels; two sisters, Mary (Kermit) Vessels Harris of Paulsboro, N.J., and Doris Loving of Philadelphia; one brother, Robert Vessels of Byromville, Ga.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mrs. Louise and Mr. Steve Hancock; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
